Rice shipment from India arrives at Ctg Port

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 26: The bulk carrier ship 'MV Tanais Dream' arrived at Chittagong Port on Thursday, marking the arrival of the first shipment of imported rice from India under the open tender agreement during the interim government.
The vessel, which docked at Jetty No. 11 at around 10:00am, brought 24,690 tonnes of parboiled rice from India.
The Belize-flagged cargo ship is expected to undergo a standard unloading procedure, including physical examinations and rice sample collection, before the rice is offloaded, sources said.
Gnanpriya Bidurshi Chakma, Traffic and Conservation Controller of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), confirmed that the ship arrived on schedule and berthed at the port in the morning.
This delivery follows the arrival of another vessel, the MV Yuan Xiang Fa Zhan, which docked at Chittagong Port on December 22. The Panama-flagged MV Yuan Xiang had brought industrial raw materials, sugar, and potatoes from Pakistan.
