RMG operator course in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, Feb 16 (BSS): The three month-long Readymade Garments Sewing Machine Operator (RMG-SMO) Piloting course for the poor, under-privileged and disabled women under Competency Based Training and Assessment (CBT&A) which began at Narsingdi Polytechnic Institute from January 1, is progressing satisfactorily.
Department of Technical Education under the Ministry of Education with the assistance of ILO is implementing the course with the object of reducing poverty from the country by creating employment opportunities for the poor, under-privileged and disabled women to make them skilled garment workers.
With the supervision of principal of Narsingdi Polytechnic institute Shusil Kumar Paul in the training, the total 25 trainees in the course under the project are getting a financial help of Tk 2,000 each monthly and necessary inputs so that they can utilize the knowledge acquired from the training for improving their living and livelihood.
Director General (DG) Directorate of Technical Education, Mohammad Shahjahan Miah last week visited the training centre of RMG Machine Operator Piloting course at Narsingdi Polytechnic institute.
The DG expressed satisfaction that the distressed and disabled women are being imparted training for their economic emancipation.
