Sales gain pace as REHAB fair drawing to a close

The realtors sold 374 flats and 412 plots worth Tk 3.97 billion and commitment for flats, plots and commercial space worth Tk 5.21 billion till the fourth day of the five-day-long REHAB winter fair 2014, REHAB general secretary said.
"At the end of the fifth day we will get commitment for flats, plots worth Tk 1.0 billion more, Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) general secretary Md Wahiuzzaman told the FE.
He said, "We have got a good number of visitors in the REHAB winter fair. Realtors have received more than 16,000 visitors during the fair which is satisfactory."
The fair started on December 24 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
Amin Mohammad Foundation deputy manager (marketing and sales) Nazrul Islam said response to the fair was satisfactory. This sort of fair helps realtors find out the requirement of clients and create projects as per demand, he added.
 "We have found that middle income group people are very much interested about economic flats between 800 square feet and 1200 feet and its cost below Tk 5.0 million."
"A lot of NRBs (Non Resident Bangladeshis) have contacted us but we are not able to fulfil all their requirements. We will take initiatives to meet up their demand," he said.  
Boshudha Builders Ltd deputy manager (sales and marketing) said, "We are happy that we have sold flats, plots and commercial space worth Tk 125 million at the end of this fair. Besides, a lot of commitment we have received."
He said, "The Sonargaon plot project attracted the clients most. Price of a katha of land is Tk 600,000 with five per cent discount. We have offered 108 instalments (Tk 13,000 per month) for plot and 36 instalments (Tk 50,000 per month) for flats."    
The concluding ceremony will be held tomorrow (December 30).
State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan is expected to attend the closing ceremony as chief guest while GM Joynal Abedin Bhuiyan, Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) chairman will attend as special guest.
There were 150 stalls in the fair. Among these 17 were for construction materials and five banks and financial institutions.
