CHITTAGONG, May 14: Salim Ahmed, managing director of Super Refinery (Pvt) Limited, Chittagong, has been rewarded as Commercially Important Person (CIP) for 2014 in the Large Industrial Category by the government.
He has been honoured as CIP in the same category for several years in recognition of his contributions to the national economy. Mr Ahmed is the managing director of Super Group of Companies and vice chairman of Elite Paint Group of Companies.
He was also elected as vice chairman of the Board of Directors of AB Bank Limited and director of Bangladesh General Insurance Company Ltd.
Mr Ahmed is now president of Bangladesh Paint Manufacturers Association (BPMA) and director of Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Recently, Industries minister Amir Hossain Amu declared the names of CIPs in various categories for their contributions in the industrial development and in the economic growth in the country and distributed the CIP cards.
