Saudi Riyals worth Tk 14m seized

Customs intelligence personnel seized a large amount of Saudi Riyals worth about Tk 14 million (1.40 crore) Friday night from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city.

"We seized the Saudi Riyals in an abandoned condition from a bag full of rice while scanning the luggage of passengers in boarding counter area of the airport around 10:00 pm Friday," Assistant Director Umme Nahida Akhter of airport customs intelligence told BSS.

"Persons involved in the misdeed will soon be arrested as probe into the matter has already started," director general of airport customs intelligence Mainul Khan told the news agency.
