SBS Zipper to invest $19.97m in BEPZA EZ

SBS Zipper Bangladesh Co. Ltd., a Chinese company, is going to invest US$ 19.97 million to set up a garments accessories manufacturing industry in BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ).
The company signed an agreement with Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) to this end at BEPZA Complex in the city on Tuesday, reports BSS.
Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA Ali Reza Mazid and CEO of SBS Zipper Bangladesh Weifang Shen signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations in presence of BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman.
This Chinese company will produce annually 271 million pieces of metal zipper, nylon/plastic zipper, slider/chain/zipper parts/tapes, plastic button, button parts and mould where 2,063 Bangladeshi nationals will get employment opportunity.
BEPZA Executive Chairman thanked SBS Zipper Bangladesh for choosing BEPZA EZ as their investment destination. He assured them of providing all sorts of support round the clock to start their production and export.
BEPZA Member (Engineering) Mohammad Faruque Alam, Member (Finance) Md. Ashraful Kabir, Executive Director (Admin) A N M Foyzul Haque, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md. Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Md. Khorshid Alam and Executive Director (Public Relations) A.S.M Anwar Parvez and the representatives of the company were present at the signing ceremony.
SBS Zipper Bangladesh is a concern of SBS Zipper, one of the biggest global zipper manufacturers, which ranks first in China and second in the world in terms of zipper production.
