AKM Selim Osman was re-elected president of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) for the third term.
Mr Osman reelected uncontested in BKMEA Election of Board of Directors (2014-16) on Saturday, the association said.
BKMEA president said the newly elected committee will work for expanding market, increasing the export growth, developing infrastructure of knit sector and ensuring fire safety and environment friendly industry chain and finally to build a systematic labour knit sector.
AH Aslam Sanny elected as first Vice President, second vice president Monsur Ahmed as second Vice President and Masuduzzaman as third Vice President and GM Faruk as vice president (finance) in office bearers as a part of BKMEA Election of Board of Directors.
Due to uncontested election, BKMEA Election Board has announced the finally selected 27 candidates as final winners of the election as directors.
As per BKMEA Election Board and Election Appellate Board Trade Organizations Manual 1994, clause 17 (1), 27 directors elected uncontested.
The rested of 22 directors are Monjurul Haque, Habibur Rahman, Abu Ahmed Siddique, Mostafa Jamal Pasha, Md Shamsuzzaman, Md Mojibur Rahman, Md Humayun Kabir, Imran Hossain Mithu, Sheikh Haidar Ali, MI Siddique, Shamol Jumar Shaha, Abdul Hannan, Md Morshed Sarwarm, M Jamaluddin, Md Asadul Islam, Alamgir Kabir, Fakir Quamruzzaman, Syed AQM Zahid, Ahmed Arif Billah, Jubair Mandol, Gaohor Siraj Jamil and Shahiduffin Ahmed.
