Sheikh Zaminur made DMD of Janata Bank

Sheikh Md. Zaminur Rahman joined the state-owned Janata Bank Ltd as its deputy managing director (DMD), the bank confirmed in a statement on Tuesday.

Earlier he served as DMD of Karmasangsthan Bank. During this stint he performed the duty of managing director (current charge) of the bank for three months.

Prior to his new assignment, he was serving as the General Manager of the Information Technology (IT) Division of the Janata Bank Limited.

Zaminur started his banking career in 1999 by joining Janata Bank as a Senior Programmer (SPO).

He received laurels from the Ministry of Finance, Bangladesh Bank and the Board of Directors of Janata Bank for his role in promoting the use of various modern techniques of IT in the banking sector.

He was born in Lohagara upazila in Narail district in 1965. Member of a freedom fighter family, he obtained his DIABB degree from the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (IBB). He did his MSc. In Statistics at the University of Dhaka.
