Sheltech draws up Tk 30b RU infrastructure dev plan

Engineers of Sheltech on Wednesday morning made a presentation on the five-year development plan in presence of RU Vice-Chancellor Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar at a function at the university.


RAJSHAHI, Jan 18: Consulting firm Sheltech has presented a concept paper for infrastructure development of Rajshahi University.
Engineers of Sheltech on Wednesday morning made a presentation on the five-year development plan in presence of RU Vice-Chancellor Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar at a function at the university.
Modernisation and construction of various buildings, residential halls, research institutes, Administration Building, Bangabandhu Chattar, Zuberi Bhawan and 40-bed Medical Centre of the university at an estimated cost of Tk 30 billion (3,000 crores) have been included in the plan.
In addition, the new Arts, Science and Engineering buildings, repair and reconstruction of Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Academic Building, Mumtaz Uddin Academic Building, Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Building, Barendra Research Museum, Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Advanced Research Centre, Institute of Virology Building, Veterinary and Food Science Building have also been included in the plan. Moreover, the construction of Central Gymnasium, Girls' Gymnasium, Central Market, Transport Complex, Residential Halls for male and female students and Sher Bangla Fazlul Haque Hall will be included in this infrastructure development plan.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar at the presentation function said steps would be taken to finalise and implement this plan in consultation with university stakeholders as soon as possible.
Among others, RU Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sultan-ul-Islam, Public Relations Department Administrator Prof. Pradip Kumar Pandey, Planning and Development Department Acting Director Engineer Khandaker Shahriar Rahman and Acting Deputy Director Moshiur Rahman were present. On behalf of Sheltech, the company's Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Ariful Islam, Assistant Manager Atiqur Rahman and other high-ups were present.
