Shimanto Bank signs refinancing deal with BB

Shimanto Bank recently signed an agreement with the Sustainable Finance Department of Bangladesh Bank for lending under a refinancing package to promote environment-friendly products, projects and initiatives, says a press release. Rafiqul Islam, Managing Director & CEO, Shimanto Bank, and Chowdhury Liakat Ali, Director (SFD), Sustainable Finance Department, Bangladesh Bank, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Various eco-friendly products, projects and initiatives such as renewable energy, alternative energy, liquid and solid waste management, recycling and manufacturing of recyclable goods, environment-friendly establishments, green agriculture, etc. will get priority for term loans at the maximum interest rate of 5.0 per cent under this agreement.
