The European Union (EU) listed country Slovenia expressed its keenness on Thursday to import honey from Bangladesh.
The interest came from a meeting between Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu and Alesa Kundus, CEO of Medex, a Slovenian organisation producing honey and honey byproduct, at the ministry in the city, reports BSS.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has already been inked between Medex and Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), to this end.
Hailing the Slovenian proposal of importing honey from Bangladesh, Mr Amu said, "It will create a scope to diversify the products meant for exports."
During the meeting, the minister assured the Slovenian entrepreneurs of giving all sorts of assistance to produce quality honey jointly.
