A weeklong 11th National SME Products Fair will begin on May 19 aiming to promote the country's small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
With the support of Ministry of Industries, the SME Foundation is organising the fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the city's Agargaon area.
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun made the announcement at a press conference at the ministry on Wednesday.
Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Industries Zakia Sultana, Chairperson of the SME Foundation Masudur Rahman, Managing Director (additional charge) Salahuddin Mahmud and Convenor of the working committee for the fair Rashedul Karim Munna were present at the briefing, among others.
Around 350 SMEs, some of them run by women entrepreneurs, will participate in the fair this year to showcase and sell their goods.
About 25 banks and financial institutions that disburse SME loans will participate in the fair and the entrepreneurs will get an opportunity to directly discuss and consult with the bankers for SME loans.
The fair premises will remain open for visitors daily from 10.00 am to 9.00 pm.
