South End Sweaters LEED Platinum rated

South End Sweaters, a sweater concern of Team Group, recently received LEED Platinum certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

With receiving the USGBC certification, the number of green garment factory currently stood at 258, according to a statement.

Among the 258 factories in Bangladesh, some 109 are platinum rated, 133 are gold-rated, 12 silver-rated and four are certified.

To achieve the platinum rate, a factory must secure at least 80 score out of 110, for gold 60 to 79 score, for silver 50 to 59 score and for being certified 40 to 49.

The South End Sweaters scored 85, it added.

With South End Sweaters, Team Group now owns a total of three LEED certified factories - as its outerwear concern 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd is also LEED Platinum-rated and woven concern Brothers Fashion Ltd is LEED Gold certified by the USGBC.
