Standard Chartered Bangladesh and Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital (IIEI&H) have partnered to set up 71 comprehensive Eye Health Camps for adult beneficiaries and 1,667 Student Sight Testing Programmes (SSTP) for school-going children, reports UNB.
The initiative will reach 10,000 adults in Dhaka city and 250,000 students in Naogaon, Jamalpur, Barishal, Borguna and Moulvibazar.
The initiative will also support the transportation of surgery patients and provide beneficiaries with eyewear, optics, and essential medicine.
Standard Chartered and Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital have been working together for more than 20 years to prevent avoidable blindness.
Through this partnership, Standard Chartered Bangladesh is addressing the needs of marginalised and vulnerable groups through targeted interventions and service expansion, both in terms of technology and infrastructure investments, and through upskilling and training of eye-health workers.
