Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) on Sunday gave pre-qualification certificate to Standard Global Economic Zone (EZ) at Gazaria upazila in Munshiganj district.
BEZA Executive Chairman Paban Chowdhury handed over the certificate, which leads a step ahead to get final licence, to Standard Global Economic Zone Limited Chairman Engineer Atiqur Rahman at a function at BEZA office in the city, reports BSS.
The zone is being established on 108 acres of land adjacent to Dhaka-Chattogram highway. US$760 million will be invested in the EZ for infrastructure development.
Mr. Chowdhury said investors from home and aboard are giving significant response in developing economic zones in the country. BEZA has already given license to seven private economic zones, he added.
