The government has taken various steps for keeping up the trend of increasing the readymade garment (RMG) export as 82 per cent of the country's total export earnings come from this sector.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed has said this while replying to a starred question placed by Jatiya Party lawmaker Nurul Islam Milon of Comilla-8 at the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament), reports BSS.
As part of the initiative, he said, the government is sending government commercial delegations to different developed countries including Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Chili and Russia.
In addition to this, measures have also been taken to send marketing missions abroad, organise single country apparel fair, national and international RMG fair for expanding the RMG market, the minster added.
