Sustainable dev summit aims review SDGs\' implementation

The 4th Bangladesh Summit on Sustainable Development begins in the city on Sunday to review the implementation and monitoring process of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The two-day Summit is being jointly organised by Secretariat of Global Citizens' Forum on Sustainable Development (GCFSD) and Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation with the theme "Implementation and Monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals". The Forum was introduced in 2012, reports BSS.

The Summit, to be held at the PKSF auditorium in the city on July 24-25, will have seven plenary sessions to discuss the issues including poverty, healthy, education, public safety, climate change and safe water.

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu will inaugurate the Summit while economist and PKSF Chairman Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad will preside over the inaugural and different sessions.

The Summit will promote the need of implementing and monitoring the new set of goals and impact on environment, economy and social factors.

Besides, the Summit will serve as a global platform for the governments, business community, civil society groups and academia around the globe to address the issues of sustainable development, contribute in marking priority areas to build upon commitments that will support deliver lasting progress for everyone.
