The sale comprised mostly of end of season tea and met with a selective enquiry from the buyers. Clean good liquoring tea were sold well in line with quality. All others were easier with heavy withdrawals for the poorer varieties. Blenders lent fair support while there was selective enquiry from Pakistan for the cheapest tea on offer. Loose tea buyers lent fair support. Dusts were a lower market in line with quality, National Brokers Limited press release said.
CTC LEAF: 33,523 packages of tea on offer met with improved but selcetivc demand.
BROKENS/FANNINGS: A small weight of clean Invoices met with a fairly strong market and were generally firm to dearer particularly the brighter tea and these generally were sold between Tk 175 and Tk 195. Medium tea were easier with fair withdrawals. Plain poor tea again met with a sclcctive enquiry and where sold recorded a further drop. There were very heavy withdrawals in this category.
CTC DUST: 3,535 packages and 35 packages of old season tea on offer continued to meet with a fair demand. All varieties were a lower market casing by Tk 10 and sometimes more. A few lines of good liquoring CDs met with some competition and were firm. End of season varieties were mostly neglected, Blenders and Loose tea buyers lent fair support.
