Railway Minister M Mazibul Hoque told the House Wednesday that the work on preparing detailed design and tender documents for construction of Khulna-Mongla broad gauge railway line is underway, reports BSS.
"The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on December 21, 2010 approved the project with an estimated cost of over Tk 17.21 billion (1,721.39 crore)," the minister said while replying to a question from treasury bench member Swapan Bhattacharya in the House.
Besides, another project for constructing a railway line from Darsana to Mujibnagar via Damurhuda involving over Tk 6.97 billion is waiting for government's approval, he said.
