Thrust on formulating entrepreneurship policy

Speakers at a seminar have laid emphasis on the formulation of "entrepreneurship policy" to ensure employment and financial solvency of the country's huge number of young people, reports BSS.
If the government makes an inclusive plan, Bangladesh would again lead the journey of attaining the sustainable development goals (SDGs) what it has done for MDGs, they said.
The observation came at a seminar titled "Internationalisation of Entrepreneurship for Employment" organised by the Entrepreneurial Economists Club of Dhaka School of Economics (DScE) in the capital, said a statement on Sunday.
DScE Governing Council Chairman Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad was present as chief guest while the keynote paper was presented by Associate Professor of Griffith Business School, Australia Dr Moazzem Hossain.
Programme Coordinator of DScE's Entrepreneurship Programme Professor Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali chaired the session.
Dr Moazzem Hossain said the government should work for implementing SDGs like MDGs where the country is a role model. "Bangladesh needs to utilise the young generation by formulating a working plan towards the journey of achieving SDGs."
Speaking at the seminar as special guest, Trust Bank's Additional Managing Director Humaira Azam said the most important factor for Bangladesh is to create a healthy situation in the banking sector and Bangladesh bank is trying to improve the condition.
Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad said the DScE is trying hard to work in line with the government's vision through arranging Post Graduate Diploma in Enterprise Development and Master of Economics (Entrepreneurship Economics) programmes as well as Bachelor of Entrepreneurship Economics (in future).
Professor Muhamamd Mahboob Ali said Bangladesh Employment Policy-2019 should be framed towards the government's vision and mission along with pro-people and social welfare.
