Tk 2.35m distributed among river erosion victims

JAMALPUR, June 30 (BSS): The Social Service Department (SSD) has distributed financial assistances among the families hit by river erosion in the district recently.

Social Service Department sources said Tk 2.35million were distributed among 470 families in the district.

Of the total, 80 families in Madarganj, 50 in Bakshiganj, 20 in Dewanganj, 100 in Sarishabari, 212 families in Islampur and 8 families in Jamalpur Sadar upazila received the financial assistance.

The sources said each of the families, who have lost their houses in the river bed, received Tk 5,000 as grant.

The source also said that more river- eroded families will get the assistance by turns.
