Tofail terms BD an attractive place for investment

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said Saturday Bangladesh has turned into an attractive place for investment and the foreign investors are eager to invest here through building industrial parks, reports BSS.

"Although we earned foreign currencies by exporting jute products and garment earlier, we had to import electronic goods from abroad. But now we are waiting to export electronic goods as well," he said.

The minister came up with the observation while inaugurating Jamuna Electronics and Automobile factory in Sinabo area of Shafipur in Gazipur on the day.

Terming the factory as another feather on the hat of country's development, the minister said Jamuna Group has just set up a world-class factory with local money.

Among others, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque and Jamuna Group Chairman Nurul Islam Babul were present on the occasion.
