Training crucial for effective implementation of new public procurement rules: Moin

FE REPORT | December 05, 2025 00:00:00

The government has made electronic government procurement (e-GP) mandatory with the enactment of the Public Procurement Rules, 2025, said CEO of Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) SM Moin Uddin Ahmed on Thursday.

To implement the new provisions properly, it is crucial to provide adequate training to all stakeholders so that they can conduct public procurement in compliance with the rules, he added.

Moin Uddin made the remarks while addressing a workshop on the 'Public Procurement Rules (PPR), 2025 and e-GP' as the chief guest at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner in Jashore. Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Jashore Mohammad Ashek Hasan presided over the event. BPPA organised the workshop.

BPPA Director Afroza Parvin gave a presentation on PPR 2025, detailing key amendments and new provisions aimed at improving public procurement processes.

A total of over 40 participants, including tenderers and procuring entities from Jashore, attended the session. The newly introduced PPR, 2025 includes specific provisions designed to increase stakeholder engagement in public procurement.

Participants at the workshop expressed positive feedback, saying that these changes would not only boost registration on the e-GP platform but also enhance overall participation in procurement activities.
