UCB AGM approves 20 pc cash dividend

Chairman of United Commercial Bank Ltd. M A Hashem presiding over the 31st annual general meeting of the bank in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.

The 31st annual general meeting (AGM) of United Commercial Bank Ltd. (UCB) was held in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday, said a press release.

In the AGM, shareholders approved 20 per cent cash dividend for the financial year 2013.

Vice Chairman of UCB Sharif Zahir, Chairman of Executive Committee Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, Chairman of Audit Committee Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Abu Tayeb Muhammad Zahirul Alam, Chairman of Risk Management Committee M. A. Sabur, directors Showkat Aziz Russell, Md. Jahangir Alam Khan, Yunus Ahmed, M. A. Kalam, Md. Tanvir Khan, Asifuzzaman Chowdhury, Sultana Rezia Begum, Shabbir Ahmed and Ahmed Arif Billah and Managing Director Muhammed Ali were present in the AGM.

The programme was conducted by Additional Managing Director & Company Secretary of the bank  Mirza Mahmud Rafiqur Rahman.      

Additional managing directors M Shahidul Islam and A. E. Abdul Muhaimen, deputy managing directors Mohammad Abu Abdullah, Md. Tariqul Azam and Mohammed Shawkat Jamil along with senior executives as well as a large number of shareholders were also present in the AGM.

The Chairman in his speech said, UCB had generated attractive financial results in the previous year. UCB gained a tremendous growth in every arena like operating profit, loans and advances, deposit etc. Commitment towards society through immense involvement in CSR activities and adopting green banking also shows UCB is not only revenue generating entity but also concerned towards society. He also expressed that UCB will be continuing to serve the interest of shareholders, clients and on the whole communities.
