UCB signs MoU with Ctg City Corporation for development of playground and park

With a commitment to a greener Chattogram, United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) on Sunday.

Under this agreement, the abandoned playground adjacent to the Karnaphuli Shishu Park in Agrabad will be transformed into a modern, child-friendly recreational centre equipped with advanced facilities. The MoU was signed at the UCB's head office, says a statement.

Sheikh Muhammad Tauhidul Islam, Chief Executive Officer of Chattogram City Corporation and Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid, Managing Director & CEO of UCB, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations. Among others, Dr Sahadat Hossain, Mayor, Chattogram City Corporation, and Sharif Zahir, Chairman of UCB, were also present at the signing ceremony.

Mayor Sahadat Hossain said UCB's relentless participation towards the development of a green and environment friendly Chattogram is praiseworthy.

Managing Director & CEO of UCB Mamdudur Rashid expressed his commitment that UCB will be actively engaging into positive CSR activities.

In a city of nearly 7 million people, playgrounds and recreational spaces are essential for the physical and mental development of children and adolescents. However, due to rapid urbanisation, Chattogram faces a growing shortage of such open spaces. Recognising this pressing need, CCC and UCB have jointly taken the initiative to implement this vital project.
