UK cross-party team meets Sayem Sobhan

A cross-party delegation of the United Kingdom paid a courtesy call on Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir in Dhaka on Sunday.

A cross-party delegation of the United Kingdom paid a courtesy call on Bashundhara Group Mana-ging Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir at his residence in the capital on Sunday, says a press release.

During the meeting, the delegation members, including lawmakers Paul Bristow, Jane Hunt, Paulette Hami-lton, Antony Higginbotham and Tom Hunt, lauded Bashundhara Group, the country's largest industrial conglomerate, for contributing to the overall development of Bangladesh.

The other members of the delegation included Coun-cillor Alexander Turner Brentwood, Clear Insurance and Management Director Rodney Flowers, Live Testing Solutions CEO Jo Lee, ZI Foundation Chairman Zillur Hussain MBE, SMR Vice-Chairman Ivelina Banalieva, Posh Spice Ltd Chair Golap Mia and British-Bangladeshi Young Talent founder Zobaer Alam.

During the meeting, they discussed business strategies, social outlook, adaptation to global changes, production and use of sustainable technology of Bashundhara Group.

Bangladesh's bilateral cooperation with the UK and expansion of trade relations with the 56 Commonwealth countries also came up for discussion.

Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir thanked the UK cross-party parliamentary delegation for visiting Bangladesh.

During the meeting, the delegates expressed strong approval of various projects of Bashundhara Group and eagerness to work together.

The UK cross-party parliamentary delegation came to Dhaka at the invitation of ZI Foundation Chairman Zillur Hussain MBE to pave the way for opening a mental health centre in Bangladesh.
