Unilever donates Tk 1.03m to school for children with spl needs

Sakshi Handa, Human Resources Director of Unilever Bangladesh Limited handing over a cheque for Tk 1.03 million to Rabeya Yeasmin Neela, Principal of Amar Joti Special School on Wednesday in the capital.

Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL) has donated Tk 1.033 million (10.33 lakh) to Amar Joti Special School, says a statement.

Rabeya Yeasmin Neela, Principal of Amar Joti Special School, Sakshi Handa, Human Resources Director; and Babul Saha, Finance Excellence Team Leader of UBL along with other UBL officials interacted with the children with special needs of the school on Wednesday to celebrate 'International Day for Persons with Disabilities'.

The day was observed in an eventful manner through observing a cultural programme and cutting a cake with the children. Along with the engagement session, UBL handed over the cheque for Tk 1.03 million to the school's three selected students, one year's worth of educational expenses.

Amar Joti Special School is a concern of Niketan, where children with complex disabilities receive quality and appropriate education by making use of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) and thematic education. UBL has partnered with Niketan, an organisation of the Dutch origin, to help the disabled children of Bangladesh.
