HANOI, Oct 9 (Xinhua): Vietnam's Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh said here on Thursday that the country's gross domestic product (GDP) growth can reach 5.8 per cent or even higher this year.
This year's GDP growth can be reached only when the growth of agriculture and service sectors remains the same as forecast, Vinh said at a session of Vietnam's National Assembly Standing Committee on socio-economic situation in 2014 and plan for 2015 held here.
Vinh also expected the country's consumer price index (CPI), the main gauge of inflation, would range from 4.5 per cent to 4.6 per cent, the local VNEconomy online newspaper reported.
