Well Food, a premium food brand of Well Group, has targeted raising its income to Tk 1.0 billion from this segment alone in two years, a top official said Saturday.
Syed Nurul Islam, chief executive officer (CEO) of the company, also said that Well Food is probably the only food brand certified by the USA's Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which has helped smooth its way to export to the United Kingdom, Australia and New York of America.
"We have a sales target of Tk 1.0 billion over the next two years. Also, we want to make Well Food a global brand," he said, adding the company is close to achieving this feat riding on its FDA certification.
But Mr Islam kept mum on the annual sales of the company.
He was speaking at the formal launch of Well Food in Dhaka at a city hotel, which started serving its Dhaka customers one and half years ago.
Mr Islam said Well Food looks to set up 50 outlets in the next five years including expansion of its outlets in Sylhet and North Bengal, and is going to export to Thailand and the UAE's Dubai within six months.
"Our expansion plan mainly depends on the economic growth poles and the purchasing power of the people," he said.
Established in 2005, the Chittagong-based company now has 12 outlets in Dhaka and 14 in Chittagong. The business group wants to set up eight more outlets in Dhaka in next six months.
Well Food is a premium food brand in Chittagong and widely popular for its taste, quality and brand image, he said.
"We want to serve our Dhaka customers with tasty and quality food at reasonable price. It is our commitment to maintain the quality whatever it takes and for that we directly receive customers' feedback about our products," said Mr Islam.
He said Well Food is no more a regional brand, but a national one and it will never produce any product harmful for human health and environment.
The Group's director Syed Shahidul Islam and chief marketing officer (CMO) Daisy Rahim were also present on the occasion.
