The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) on Tuesday lauded Bangladesh for its gradual development and position of 'Brand Bangladesh' in the world.

A delegation of WIPO came up with the appreciation while meeting with Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Kazi M Aminul Islam at BIDA headquarters in the capital, said a press release, reports BSS.

During the meeting, the WIPO delegation discussed various issues, including market policy, the use of information technology (IT) in production and the country's position in local and international markets.

Aminul Islam said Bangladesh achieved remarkable successes in the last 10 years under the prudent policy and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

"Bangladesh has become a safe zone for investment. Last year, the inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) increased by 68 per cent, which was the highest in the world," he added.
