Workshop on e-Government Master Plan held

With a view to sharing suggestions of e-Government Master Plan report and its implementation strategy, a dissemination workshop on 'e-Government Master Plan for Digital Bangladesh' was held in the city on Wednesday, reports BSS.

Senior Secretary of ICT Division N M Zeaul Alam, Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency Hyun-Gue Joe, Additional Secretary (Planning and Development Wing) of ICT Division Md. Mamun-Al-Rashid, Project Director of 'e-Government Master Plan for Digital Bangladesh' Mohammad Manir Hossain, among others, addressed the programme held at Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC).

Parthapratim Deb, Executive Director of BCC presided over the programme, said a press release.

'E-Government Master Plan for Digital Bangladesh' report was formally unveiled by the Architect of Digital Bangladesh, ICT Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister Sajeeb Wazed on 20 October 2019. According to the report of UN e-Government Survey 2018, Bangladesh ranked 115th among 193 countries.

Mr. Zeaul Alam said that e-Government Master Plan for Digital Bangladesh will play an effective and efficient role to establish a strong e-Government eco-system in the country and it will be very useful for different ministries, divisions and organisations to initiate their new ICT related activities aligned with "Vision-2021.

He mentioned that ICT Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Sajeeb Wazed Joy has given us a target to improve the UN e-Government ranking 50th positions by 2021. In 2003, only 45 countries had one-stop-platform and it was 90 in 2016.
