WorldFish inks deal with 5 shrimp cos

USAID Aquaculture for income and nutrition (USAID-AIN) project implemented by WorldFish Monday signed memorandum of agreement with five shrimp processing plants of Khulna to improve the efficiency of linkage between farmer groups and shrimp processors in the shrimp value chain.
The Country Director, South Asia of WorldFish, Dr. Craig A. Meisner, Md Khalilullah, Vice president of Bangladesh Frozen Food Exporters Association (BFFEA) and Chairman of Jubo Academy of Satkhira and the respective Managing Directors of the processing plants, signed the MoA on behalf of their respective sides, said a press release.
The Plants are Rupsha Fish & Allied Ind. Ltd, Bagerhat Sea Food Ind. Ltd, Southern Foods Ltd, Asian Sea Food Ltd. and Satkhira Foods Ltd.
The NGO Jubo Academy will cooperate in the communication with farmers.
SM Amzad Hossain , chairman South Bangla Agricultural and Commerce Bank limited attended the signing ceremony as the chief guest, while USAID Senior agricultural and food policy advisor Dr. Shahidur Rahman Bhuiyan and  Chief of Party of the USAID-AIN project Mr. Hendrik Jan Keus  were present as special guests.
