Zahidul Islam appointed Biman MD

Zahidul Islam Bhuiyan has been appointed as the new managing director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
A notification regarding his appointment has been issued recently by the Ministry of Public Administration.
An additional secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, Mr Bhuiyan is a member of the BCS (Administration) 18th batch.
He has worked as the personal secretary of Salman F. Rahman, Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, for the last five and half years.
After serving in different positions in the field administration, Mr Bhuiyan played different roles at various ministries, including industries, commerce and expatriate welfare. He also served as First Secretary (Labour) at the Embassy of Bangladesh in South Korea.
In his new assignment, he will replace Shafiul Azim who was appointed as the secretary at the Election Commission on May 21.
