‘Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh Show’ starts tomorrow

The 3rd Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh Show is going to kick off for the third time in the city on Sunday.
The two-day show to take place at Hotel Radisson Blu, Dhaka on 1st and 2nd March eyeing for both local and international denim customers, as Bangladesh is a major source for denim and jeans earning US$ 1.5 billion annually.
A total of 26 companies from 7 countries - Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Germany, Turkey, Brazil, and China - - will participate at the event. Sandeep Agarwal, organizer of the show, said: "I feel Bangladesh has strengths in apparel industry duly supported by textile base which no other Asian country has together with all its benefits.
Already Bangladesh is the largest exporter of denim jeans to Europe - even more than China. Bangladesh occupies a unique position among the Asian countries as it is the only country where the skills and resources from around the world come together to combine with local strengths to give to international buyers' options of multi varied, multi priced, and multi segmented options for their purchases."
The show shall bring some of the most important denim personalities worldwide and help in further focus on the denim industry in Bangladesh. Besides, there will be a denim fashion show - "FASHIONIM" which shall enable focus on fashion side of the industry as well. To bring some differentiation the authority includes a denim fashion show on 1st March.
The show is also inviting two very reputed denim experts - including founders of very well known denim brands from Europe and US - to share their knowledge on denim with the industry. The show will be technically supported by Promotion of Social and Environmental Standards in the Industry (PSES), a joint project of the governments of Bangladesh and Germany, implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), according to a statement.
