A good number of reforms commissions have submitted several reports with suggestion of improving working methods to run the banks efficiently. But so far nothing new have been added to the on going system.
Initially, CIB of BB was very action oriented. But after some days CIB report become a time consuming factor. The artharin court could not achieve any quick disposal. The big borrowers went to higher court to stop the action of lower courts. The recovery aspect could not be improved as yet.
Thousand of crores of taka are lying locked and inoperative. Recently new Board of Directors have been constituted with enormous power. It is learnt that large scale promotions of offices irrespective of experience have been effected. Previously it was strictly followed to bring efficient officers only in the running of state run banks.
