Cars inside New Market

Getting inside Dhaka New Market one may wonder if the traditional shopping venue of the capital has new merchandise in its show case. Cars standing majestically inside the pathway of the shopping centre will make shoppers feel so. These are no merchandise. In fact these cars belonging to the shop owners of the market remain parked there throughout the shopping hours from morning till closing of the market.
The pathway is in no way a parking lot. This open and spacious ground is the beauty and essence of the New Market. It makes the New Market quite distinct and special from the fast growing modern and covered shopping centres of the city where the busy and weary shoppers hardly find any space to breathe. The New Market provides wide space for the shoppers to move around freely with their children in an open environment.
The unauthorised parking of vehicles has totally ruined the calm and soothing atmosphere of the New Market. People cannot move freely, and parents accompanied by children remain scared due to the presence of vehicles inside. Moreover, it is difficult to enter the market through the Azimpur Gate as it remains busy with the movement of vehicles in and out of the market.
The pathway is meant for the shoppers to move around. The parking or movement of vehicles is totally illegal, whoever the owners of the vehicles may be. This unlawful activity should be stopped forthwith.
