Charity exhibition of autographs

November 08, 2009 00:00:00

AUTOGRAPH-hunting has been my hobby since I was twelve years old, which is more than five decades ago.
I have already collected more than 3,000 autographs, not-facsimile, of eminent personalities, both national and foreign. I received replies from hundreds of personalities who encouraged my hobby. The late Sir Zafrullah Khan, a former Pakistan Foreign Minister who later became a judge of the International Court of Justice in the Hague, British scholar and Nobel laureate, the late Bertrand Russell, assassinated American president John F. Kennedy, King Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia, famous American scholar, black leader and Nobel peace laureate, the late Dr Ralph J Bunche, former President the late F Marcos of the Philippines, First Secretary-General of the Arab League, the late Khaled Bin Houssouna, famous American human rights activist and singer, the late Marian Anderson and other celebrities.
Bonafide autographs from India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, the last British Viceroy Lord Mountbatten, the late Walt Diseny and the late Charlton Huston are in my treasure trove.
I had to spend a lot of money for this hobby, which enabled me to establish friendship with celebrities. At 68, I am quite keen to hold an "International Charity Autograph Exhibition" to help the deaf, dumb, blind and other handicapped at home and abroad. I would need help from governments, NGOs and international organisations, banks and companies to organise the event. I am also keen to open an autograph museum in Dhaka, and also write a book, provided proper support from international book publishers is available.
I look forward to cooperation and support from interested persons to fulfil my childhood dream.
