I was shocked when I came to know that two people died as three concrete girders of Bahaddarhat flyover collapsed in Chittagong. I was afraid that the death toll may rise. It is easily understandable that the construction work of the bridge's foundation was not properly done.
It is nothing new in our country because we have been witnessing too much corruption in every sector. After repairing any road, we see, it becomes partly unusable within a very short time because the construction team uses inferior material for making hefty profit. We should not forget about their paying bribe in every step. We can not even blame the construction workers completely as they too have to grease every palm to get the work and bill. So, ultimately the quality of work suffers terribly and consequently sufferings of common people know no bounds. We can't expect to put a brake in such tragic incidents until we uproot corruption.
I hope investigation team will find out the reasons behind the collapse of girders in Chittagong, unmask the guilty people and punish immediately.
