Education Commission
February 25, 2009 00:00:00
On January 29 the education minister announced that a new education commission would be appointed. The new commission will follow the one by Dr Kudrat-e-Khuda in making its report, said the minister.
Many education commissions appointed in the past could not deliver. After independence Dr. Kudrat-e-Khuda Education Commission was the first such one. Then came Sharif Commission, Moniruzzaman Commission and Shamsul Huda Commission on which a lot of public money was spent.
Education being a priority sector, the new government, which came to power pledging 'change', should go for an education commission acceptable to all. It should be effective.
