Facilitating wider use of ICT
January 24, 2010 00:00:00
THE world is now at one's finger-tips. Why do we lag behind? The present democratic government came to power with a mandate as well as a commitment to turn Bangladesh into a digital one. But, we cannot reach that goal unless we have the facility for connections with Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
I regularly read the Internet edition of newspapers but it is very costly. So we want the government to initiate effective actions at the earliest. Internet-browsing of newspapers should be provided free of cost. The mobile-phone operators, along with the government, need to come forward in this area in the greater interest of the nation.
