Hapless HSC examinees

April 12, 2012 00:00:00

Every year before the HSC or SSC examination we hear that unscrupulous people cheated some students of their money. Instead of depositing the exam fee to the government exchequer they embezzled it. This year we have heard the same story about sixty two hapless examinees of Dhaka Model Degree College being cheated. They could not sit for the HSC examinations, because the education board did not provide them with admit cards.
It is really hard for the young examinees to face such a hurdle during the crucial exam of their life. The young students should not have gone through this ordeal. It seems that they are on the verge of losing one valuable academic year from their life. The education board must find a way out for these young pupils as they had no fault of their own. My heart goes out to the young students and their parents. The culprit must face exemplary punishment for playing with the future of the young pupils. The education board must also take necessary precautions so that such incidents do not happen in future.
