History of Bangladesh

IT is really appreciable that the government has taken initiatives to give the national leaders, particularly Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman his rightful place in the nation's history. As per the initiatives, national curriculum and textbook board has already taken initiative to incorporate the necessary changes in the new editions of text books from Class I to V for the year 2008. It was reported that these books will give the recognition of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as the Father of the Nation and former President Ziaur Rahman for proclamation of independence on behalf of Bangabandhu at the outset of the war of liberation.
The history of Bangladesh has been distorted not only once but also on different occasions in the past. Whenever a government came to the power, it tried to make history in its own way. But in this way, we have divided our nation into different thoughts and views and derailed our younger generation by deviating our identical truth.
It is now expected that the government would take further initiatives so that any government that comes to power after the next general election, scheduled for late 2008, cannot make any change of history in the future, despite having their different political belief. No one wants to see travesty of truth anymore.
