The Sri Lankan model of power planning about which Dr. Tilak wrote in your April 18 issue, should be applicable for any country. But Bangladesh suffers from political extremism, all due to the parochial approach of our political leaders. In our politics, what is sauce for the goose, is poison (not sauce) for the gander!
The PDB has a professional hierarchy but the members of its Board of Directors, including the chairman, are usually sycophants of the powers that be.
