Private medical colleges

IT is very questionable whether the standards or characteristics of medical teaching and training institutions are possessed by the majority of the private medical colleges that have sprung up in Bangladesh. Thirty two such medical colleges are there but 25 of these were set up without observing proper guidelines, according to reports. Recently, an inspection team of the relevant ministry gave orders to stop enrolment of students in five of these private medical colleges after knowing about the unacceptable conditions in them. But surely, wider actions are indispensable in this regard because none should be allowed to play with human lives. Actions ought to be taken against all 25 such institutions which are considered to be deficient.
