Query from China on gas metering system

August 05, 2008 00:00:00

This is in response to two articles on gas published in The Financial Express in recent times which I read with avid interest. These articles were headlined as 'Proposed gas price hikes should be rational' and 'Falling gas reserve and aftermath', both written by Mr Shahiduzzaman Khan.

Frankly speaking, I am a sales woman in China, and my company, Shenzhen Star Instrument, provides domestic gas meters, and this is the reason why I am interested in his articles. After reading his penetrating analysis of the problem, I have come to an opinion, that is, as gas reserve is limited and price hikes have also upper limit, it is necessary to develop an environmental friendly consumer concept in your country.

As I know, the metering system in your country still has the improving space, and I would like to promote IC card prepayment gas meter and management system for your residents. The salient features of the system are as follows:

1. Ultra low energy consumption, stability, environmental changeability proof and long consecutive operation, prompt operational speed.

2. User card adopts the advanced encryption technology, preventing copy, decoding, human attack, etc.

3. Using meter reading card to release the data, function of data storage which can be saved as long as 10 years.

4. Can realise the "all in one card" function of water, energy and gas meter.

In this case, residents could use gas much more effectively. I believe this is both beneficial for the government and the residents, and it is also a good chance for setting a proper metering system. I would to call upon all concerned through your newspaper to like to recommend this healthy, safety and environment-friendly consumption concept of natural gas to your people?
