Rangs Bhaban

Conventional wisdom dictates that whenever we are unable to remove a problem, we should try and make the best of it. The solution to Rangs Bhaban does not lie in dismantling it, rather circumventing it, both literally and technically. That will be a psychological and architectural challenge, indeed.
The old post office building in the Washington DC went up for sale and an old, wealthy lady bought the place before the developers could move in. She wanted to save a national heritage. In Moscow, the Russians moved an entire building without demolition to make room for a road.
The whole area including the Thai-Chi, Sony Rangs and the old Karupanya building could be turned into a beautiful Square - the magnificent Rangs Bhaban standing upright and adding to the landmark of the Capital city.
We will need the goodwill of the American lady and the engineering ingenuity of the Russians, perhaps!
