Regeneration of moral values

August 01, 2007 00:00:00

A leader published recently in the FE laid importance on the regeneration of moral values among the people. Such values, as noted in that leader, have increasingly been dimming and taking a back seat in our individual and social life and those values must be regenerated. None will disagree on this point and all concerned will certainly agree on the urgent need for regeneration of our values in our country which is being rated as the most corrupt one year after year.
But the question is: how can such moral values be regenerated? Obviously, it should come through regeneration of such values among the individuals themselves. A person who has turned himself into an immoral one, should make himself efforts for regeneration of moral values.
When a person is immoral, it is because of him/her that many others become immoral. So, without the conditions being created for the immoral persons to rectify themselves, regeneration of moral values will be difficult to achieve.
