The talk shows
July 26, 2009 00:00:00
IN the TV talk shows we see the same faces speaking on every issue. As if there is nothing they do not know including politics, economics, culture, law, mineral resources and what not. Is it possible for a small group of people to become experts on all issues of national interest?
The viewers often feel disappointed and frustrated with what they say. They take the people to be fools. There is no short cut for the TV channels to prove their worth in a complex competitive world.
We, the viewers want to learn from the TV talk shows. I would, therefore, request the talk show producers to invite people who know their subjects. It would make the discussions lively and useful. The channels should follow the principle, "The right person at the right place".
