Transit facility for India

November 08, 2010 00:00:00

What a gross mistake, a comedy of error, tragedy of error or experience of horror?
Earlier our authorities concerned and some political leaders said and claimed that if India is granted transit Bangladesh would earn huge revenue income. But now India is bluntly refusing to pay transshipment fee/custom duty for carrying Indian goods and commodities to her eastern provinces through Bangladesh territory.
Bangladesh as a sovereign and independent state has the right to collect transshipment fee/custom duty. It is practiced all over the world.
Would our Foreign Minister, Finance Minister and Commerce Minister kindly clarify the matter in the greater interest of our country?
