Unemployment problem

September 11, 2007 00:00:00

JOBS are hard to get these days. The economy has been passing through a difficult transitional period. New investment activities are few and far between. The informal sector that used to provide jobs opportunities to many people is in disarray. Daily labourers find these days difficult to find their income-earning outlets. Some organised sectors are in troubles to continue their business-as-usual operations for a variety of factors. Prices are still under upward pressure, aggravating the conditions of living for most people. Unemployment or joblessness has been causing further worries to the people. The natural disasters like floods have made conditions rougher and tougher for the millions in the affected districts.
Despite the efforts by the government to help overcome the prevailing economic odds, a turnaround is still not visible. The caretaker government does need to take the ground-level realities into consideration while fixing its priorities on the economic front. Tackling unemployment problem should receive its attention.
